We are just a couple of days away from the 2019 NBA Finals and it’s time to take a look at the betting numbers posted by the sportsbooks on the series. This year’s NBA Finals will match up the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors. And while Golden State was pretty much a shoo-in to the final series, the Raptors are making their first-ever appearance at the closing stage of the basketball tournament. Kawhi Leonard has been the driving force for the Raptors, but with a star-laden roster, there is no surprise that the Warriors are once again favorite to grab yet another NBA title and lock in three in a row. The games in the Finals series would definitely be a pleasure to watch, but what is even more entertaining is to track the sportsbooks and the odds they have on the Warriors – Raptors NBA Finals.
First, let’s begin by taking an overall picture of the 2019 NBA Finals and the odds on which team will lift the trophy this year. Surprisingly (or not so much), only Bookmaker is willing to touch the odds on who will win the Finals outright. There is no surprise, however, about which team the sportsbook is siding with – the Golden State Warriors are a big favorite to win the Finals with -280 odds, while the line on the Raptors to win their first NBA title is currently set at +230. Naturally, the line will move quite a bit with the action coming in over the next couple of days, as well as with the results of the first few games in the series, but we feel that there is good value here for either side of the betting spectrum.
We haven’t really found any of the other reputable online
sportsbooks with future odds on the outright winner, but there is plenty
on Game 1 on Thursday night. One look at the betting numbers on game one
and one will quickly realize how unsure the sportsbooks are about this
matchup. At Bookmaker the Raptors are favorite to win the Finals opener
with -115 odds, although the Warriors aren’t far behind at -105. The
spread is only at 1 point chalk Toronto and that total expected is 213
points. The odds makers at
Bovada are in slight disagreement,
paying even money on the Raptors and posting -120 line on the Warriors
to win the first matchup. The Raptors hold the best odds at
5Dimes, this sportsbook having Toronto
at -118 favorite for Game 1 in the NBA Finals, while Golden State would
pay out on the -102 line.
