Plenty of time left until the start of the 2014-2015 NFL season, but the sportsbooks have been busy assessing and publishing their odds on which team will become the next NFL Champion. Plenty of bettors lock in these early odds, since they are hardly based on actual team performances and there is a lot of value to be had if you bet on the NFL. This is also the time for people to wager on their favorite team, some of them offering odds in the thousands, and while it's a long shot most of the time, the odds will never be better.
For the current NFL season odds, we visited the most recommended
online sportsbook,
Bookmaker, where we found the following NFL odds to win outright:
Denver Broncos: +488
Seattle Seahawks: +540
San Francisco 49ers: +730
New England Patriots: +750
Green Bay Packers: +1102
With the rest of the NFL teams paying out on odds +1200 or greater. The underdogs of the 14/15 football season are the Jacksonville Jaguars, paying out on +22500, meaning that a $1 bet will net you $2250 in the extremely unlikely event that the Jaguars win the Super Bowl.
While the early odds on the NFL Champion are generally on the long side, it's a good enough indication of how the sportsbooks view the current rosters and the overall teams for the future regular season. It is clear that currently the betting sites see the 14/15 NFL season as a two-horse race between the last Super Bowl finalists, the current champion Seattle and the runner-up Denver. If you believe in the Super Bowl Curse, it's highly unlikely the two teams to meet again at the end of the football season to contest the coveted trophy, but the number side of the game is quite sound. The 49ers are also fairing great with the bookmakers and so are the Patriots. To see the full list of NFL odds, visit Bookmaker or any of the recommended sportsbooks on our home page.
